EC250, Inc. will receive $40,000 in matching funds from the State of Maryland for the town’s upcoming 250th anniversary commemoration in 2022. The funds will provide a vital supplement to $100,000 in funds allocated in the FY22 Howard County Government budget for the year-long celebration. The Maryland Heritage Areas Authority (MHAA) announced matching grants totaling $206,400 for Patapsco Valley Heritage Area (PVHA) non-profits and local jurisdictions. The grant funds support heritage tourism projects and activities that draw visitors and expand economic development and tourism-related opportunities in the Patapsco Valley. A total of $5.03 million in 116 matching grants were awarded to Maryland nonprofits, local jurisdictions, and other heritage tourism organizations by MHAA. These FY22 funds support heritage tourism projects and activities that draw visitors and expand economic development and tourism-related job creation throughout Maryland.
