This beautiful, full color commemorative publication is now available at the Howard County Welcome Center! Published by The Business Monthly/Advertising Media Plus it features 75 pages filled with facts and stories about Ellicott City, Maryland —then and now!  The colorful cover features one of artist Wiley Purkey’s paintings from his special 250th anniversary series “A Brush With History.” Inside you will find articles about the town’s granite geology, historic visitors, and of course floods and the fires. There’s even a fun haiku about how to pronounce Ellicott City. In addition to outlining important dates in Ellicott City’s history, information about activities planned for the Sestercentennial year along with a calendar of events is included.

Special thanks goes to Dan Medinger and his team for producing the magazine and to all the advertisers who helped support his effort.  It’s heartening to see the many special messages in the ads and learn how much the town means to so many.  The magazine will be available throughout the year at EC250 events and select locations.  An on-line version will be made available in the coming days, but we’re sure you will want a copy of the real thing for your archives.
