St. Peter’s Episcopal Church Open House

March 12

free

Founded in 1842 as a traditional “Anglo-Catholic” parish, the church originally shared a lot with St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church. St. Peter’s was the “in town” church of the mill workers and shopkeepers in Old Ellicott City. The clergy served not only St. Peter’s but also as chaplains to the Patapsco Female Institute, a boarding “finishing” school for girls which is now an historic site.
