A Brief History of Historic Ellicott City’s Undertakers and Funeral Homes.

This original exhibit explores the history of Ellicott City’s Undertakers and Funeral Homes, some of which are still serving the Howard County community today. The Howard County Welcome Center is located in a historic post office; however, previous to the construction of the post office, it was the site of the first undertakers in Ellicott City, Hillsinger’s Undertakers. There are three other buildings within walking distance of the Welcome Center that once housed undertaker businesses.
On display October 6th – November 30th
Welcome Centers hours from 10am – 5pm. The Welcome Center is closed on Mondays.
